Uncomfortable lessons from a disastrous night::By Michael Medved

I think this is very accurate, and seems to sum things up as best they can be.  No voter fraud whining and no sore loser stuff is necessary.  It is time for conservatives to show grace and resolve where liberals previously and predictably unraveled in the face of defeat.  Republicans gave up a grand opportunity last night, but another one is available for the taking.

A note on California is appropriate here because California as well as Connecticut were clear examples of why it is still not happy times for the hard left.  Dems would do well to realign themselves closer to the Liebermans in their midst.  Look for Hillary to complete her metamorphosis into a moderate ’08 hopeful.

The Biblical worldview can take no comfort in last night’s results because the Republican party is the only remaining human vehicle for change in that direction, and it will sadly move leftward for at least 2 years.  The power of prayer remains, and that is a mighty comfort when men and machinations of the world fail us!
