And the Gods of the Copybook Headings limped up to explain it once more.

Titan Rain – Next Clancy novel? Hardly.

This article reads like an espionage thriller, and rivals some very good Clancy yarns I have read. It’s verifiable, it’s dangerous, and like our porous borders, it appears we just do not have the guts to prosecute the problem.

Our world is no longer controlled exclusively by troops manning borders. It’s not even guarded by ICBM’s. Our entire way of life is on a constant migration to a C:/ drive located…somewhere. All of these C:/ Drives store coded information that runs everything from MTV to ICBM’s…and every one of them is hooked up a net…somewhere. That net is very, very vulnerable.

When MTV gets hacked, thousands of teens get frumpy because a satellite feed bleeds the wrong information for a few minutes, but when Sandia labs gets hacked..well, dangerous information goes to bad people, and national security hemorrhages just a little more. The next major conflict will not be won by beach landing…
